Early Years of HP Printers: How Did HP Start in Printers?
HP is undeniably one of the most respected companies in the printing industry. The company was founded by Bill Hewlett and David Packard, who laid the groundwork for the company in 1939 with their development of the audio oscillator. The audio oscillator was heavily used by Walt Disney for the movie Fantasia.
HP got into the printing technology business when it first did research on inkjet printing in 1978. Back then, the printers used were dot matrix printers, and inkjet printers were not yet widely used for document printing. HP entered the scene with its first ThinkJet printers in 1984. These ThinkJet printers were designed for use with personal computers. This revolutionized the printing industry and spelled the end for dot matrix printers.
Since then, HP has been known for reliability, quality and affordability. Its printing supplies are widely available in the market, and the company is also widely known for its excellent customer care.
