The Tattoo Wars: Miami Ink vs. LA Ink
Miami Ink is one of the highest-rating reality TV shows on the TLC network. The show was successful in demystifying the myths and misconceptions surrounding the idea of getting a tattoo done. As its name suggests, Miami Ink is based in Miami, and the stars of the show were Ami James and Kat von D. However, when a tiff happened between these two stars, Kat von D packed her bags and left for LA. Not surprisingly, the TLC network offered Kat her own spinoff of the show.
The spinoff became known as LA Ink. In all forms, there is not much difference between LA Ink and Miami Ink. Both shows have the same format, with different locations. The difference, however, lies in the fact that LA Ink has more star power, as it is located close to Hollywood. It also gives Kat von D more opportunity to showcase her talent, and her designs are markedly more creative than Ami James’ own.
