Sublimation Printing: All You Need to Know about Sublimation Ink

Sublimation printing is a printing process that brings longevity to your photos. Its longevity is defined in the sense that it is capable of preserving your printouts for a long period of time. During its launch, many digital camera owners are apprehensive to invest on printouts promised by sublimation printing. This is because of the expense attached to it. Now, sublimation printers are cheaper than it was before.

Sublimation inks work on any types of substrate – from soft substrates like polyester and nylon to hard ones that have polymer coating. White substrates are also ideal work surfaces for these printing inks. But there are limitations to using these substrates. For instance, the ink does not work with a soft substrate that is made out of cotton. In another incident, it is not capable of permeating with hard substrates that are not coated with polymer.

What makes sublimation inks standout is the fact that they are capable of transforming from solid state to gas form without actually undergoing the liquefaction process. The results are photos of premium quality print less all the blotting issues. With this process, photos neither crack nor peel.
