Easy Photo Printing from Your iPhone, by Canon
It is true what they say — when it rains, it pours. This saying finds meaning in a whole lot of different occurrences in daily life, not the least of which is innovations when it comes to the gadgets and services that we are currently enjoying.
The development of a new gadget or service normally triggers a snowball effect, and it is more often than not to the advantage of the consumer. This makes the market place even healthier and provides consumers with the freedom and the opportunity to choose from a wide array of choices. One example of this is wireless printing from mobile devices. It seems like apps that will allow users to enjoy this convenience are popping up left and right.
The latest to hit the market is the one from Canon. The free iPhone app gives users the convenience of printing photos from their iPhone or iPod Touch to Canon Pixma printers via a local Wi-Fi Network. The new app is called the Canon Easy Photo Print for iPhone or Canon iEPP and is now available for free at the iTunes App Store.
This app will be an added convenience for iPhone and iPod Touch users who also own Canon printers that are compatible with the Canon iEPP. At this time, the following models are compatible with the app: the Canon Pixma MP990, the Canon Pixma MP640 and the Canon Pixma MP560 All-In-One. Canon had already given a teaser on this functionality being available for these printers when they were launched in August; at least those who partly purchased the printers for this reason now get their money’s worth.
The Canon iEPP provides users with a variety of printing options, starting with photo size (from card size to as big as letter size), number of copies and borders. Users can print up to as much as 20 copies of a photo or multiple photos, as well as choose to print photos that have or do not have borders. Once the app is launched, it will automatically detect printers on a wireless network.
