Choosing the Right Printer for Your Printing Needs
Okay, picture this: You’ve just finished making a document or a presentation and now you want to print it. This seems like a simple task, especially if you only have one printer which leaves you with not much choice. But let’s say that you have several printers — which printer should you use then?
I know the premise may seem ridiculous at first glance (after all, who in the world needs several printers around the house?), but oftentimes choosing a printer is a dilemma that most people take lightly most of the time. If you are able to carefully choose the right one, you can save a lot of time as well as a lot of printer ink, and avoid a lot of possible errors during the process.
Before choosing the printer, you must first determine the type of file that you’re going to print. If the file consists of a lot of monochrome pages like an office report or a thesis, then the best printer to choose would be a laser printer, since this does not take up a lot of time or ink — or in this case, toner — to print a single page.
But if you’re going to print pages with important images, especially colored ones, then you’re better off using an inkjet printer. While it may be a bit more costly and a whole lot slower to print each page, the quality of your photo prints would also generally be higher.
So in a nutshell, choosing the best type of printer to suit your printing needs also depends on the type of document you’re going to print. If you’re going to print a file with several pages, use a laser printer and take advantage of its printing speed. If you’re going to print photo files, then choose an inkjet printer and enjoy high-quality prints in full color.
