How to Change Your Printer Ink Cartridges
Changing the cartridge on your printer may have been made easy by the instructions that come along with the package, but there are some things that you must remember when doing so, especially since improper cartridge placement can lead to possible printing problems later on.
Some inkjet printer models like those from Epson have maintenance buttons that move the print head to the middle for easier cartridge changing. But in case you feel you are not doing it right or if the print head just would not budge, try using the printer software found in the printer settings. This is an alternative way of getting it to work.
If your printer ink cartridge is still not recognized after putting them in the proper places, check to see if your cartridges are locked all the way in. You have to press the cartridges quite hard until you hear them click into place. If they are not, cartridge recognition would be impossible.
When you experience faded letters or pictures on your prints even after putting new cartridges in, then it may be time to do some maintenance on your printer. Do some print head cleaning first to make sure that the print heads are unclogged. After all, a new cartridge is practically worthless if ink won’t flow down to the paper.
If you chose to refill your ink cartridges instead of buying new ones, printer problems would not be too much of a surprise since ink cartridges have chips embedded in them to guarantee consumption of new cartridges. Knowing this, you would probably need a chip resetter if your refilled cartridge does not work. Just make sure that your resetter is compatible with your current cartridge before you go out and buy it.
