Printer Projects For Kids
There are many ways you can use your printer. So many that people get caught up in the business of printing and forget you can do some really cool stuff with them as well. For instance, you can get your kids involved in a few printer projects. All you need is some paper and some printer ink!

Color It In
A simple project is to do a search online for “coloring pages”. You should find some simple outlines of images. Save them to your desktop, print them out and let your kids have fun! Make sure you show them the process of finding and printing the images though, because that’s half the fun! Depending on how much you want to save on your printer ink, you can print the images as high-quality or draft. Or, you can even draw some images on the computer together, print them out and then color them in. Whatever you decide, there’s a lot of fun to be had.

Playing Cards
This one is easy and a lot of fun. Get some thicker printer paper and do a search online for playing card images. Print them out and cut them out. Or, you can come up with your own card game. You can spend some time coming up with the rules of the game and even designing the images to be placed on each card. When you’re done, print out each card and enjoy playing for a long time thereafter. This is also a good way to show your kids the different ways to use printer ink cartridges as well. Do a test print or two using the grayscale option, draft option and then photo quality options. It’s a great way to have fun and introduce your child to technology.

Make a Mask
Have your child design a mask (any type of mask) on the computer. Come up with an outline for the mask. Just the basic shape will do. Then, have your child add pictures of their choosing, or maybe even scan in a few drawings of theirs. Once your child gets everything on the mask outline as they like it, print it out. Punch some holes on both sides and add a string to tie it on with. Voila! You have an instant mask! You can even continue to add decorations after you’ve printed it out like sequins, feathers or beads. And it doesn’t have to be Halloween for this one to be fun!

I love the making the mask idea. Very good … I bet my daughters will love that. I have an Epson color printer that I can put it to good use for this. Thanks for the idea
