Holiday Gift Ideas: iPod Nano

It is now a little less than two weeks till Christmas, and it will soon be crunch time as far as gift-buying is concerned. If you still lack something techie to give to a loved one, here’s yet another gift idea you may want to consider: the new iPod Nano.

Released sometime in September, the latest iPod Nano installment is more than just the MP3 player that its predecessors were.

iPod NanoFirst of all, it may no longer be accurate to call this gadget a music player – basically because it can do so much more than just that. First plus factor: this tiny thing that you can get lost in your hand or your pocket can actually shoot videos! And mind you, you can do more than simply point and shoot using this thing; you can even jazz up your videos to make it more Hollywood-y, and certainly YouTube worthy using fun video effects bundled into the gadget.

The new Nano is 3.6 x 1.5 x 0.24 inches and weighs only 1.28 ounces. Since it can now take videos, viewing them has also been improved through a larger 2.2-inch color display. It can serve as the home of 2,000 songs, 8 hours of video or 7,000 photos.

The Nano comes with its own Genius, which has the ability to discern which songs in your library go great with what and create a Genius playlist for you. Since you cannot listen to all 2,000 songs in an instant, be surprised with a random song choice by simply giving your Nano a little shake – and enjoy what the Nano chooses for you to listen to next.

Listening to the radio on the iPod Nano is also made even better. One of the new features includes being able to see the names of songs and artists. It also can serve as your pedometer, making it the perfect workout partner.
