Mozilla Firefox’s Tab Candy Makes for a Sweet Browsing Experience

This writer immediately identified with Aza Raskin’s opening sequence in the video embedded on his blog post on what will ultimately become my new best friend – Mozilla Firefox’s Tab Candy. And I am practically sure that I am not the only one.

Mozilla FirefoxAs with most people nowadays, Web browsing for me is one heck of a multi-tasking activity. After all, writing is not my only passion, and I also do have a day job that I love (and that helps pay the bills!), which keeps me online as well. And then there is the fact that the Web is not all about work. You can actually take a quick break and plan a weekend getaway while doing online research.

What I end up with are quite a number of tabs that consist of a cornucopia of online interests at a certain point in time. Truth be told, one can easily get lost in the maze; at least I know I have.

Tab Candy will be Mozilla’s answer to that. It allows the user to get a nice overview – in thumbnail form, no less – of all the tabs that are open on the browser. On top of that, tabs that are related to one another can be grouped together, which means that even if I have a dozen different tabs on various tasks, I will be given an opportunity to focus on the tabs that relate to one task at any given time.

And all these features are just the beginning; at this time, Tab Candy is still in early development, but I’m giving it a whirl, bugs and what-not included.

Check out the video and see if Tab Candy is something you’ll love too!
