Want a Perfect Girl? Create One!

For those who wonder – just like we did when we first encountered the term – exactly what a “fembot” is, we figured that it is a term that refers to a “female robot”. Now, we do not exactly know what will make a robot male or female, but we are not about to get into that; we just want to share with you a rather interesting feature. What you make of it, of course, is up to you.

fembotAn inventor who lives in Brampton, Ontario, Canada apparently spent a perfect Christmas with his mum, his dad – and the perfect girl. Only the girl is not exactly a girl in the traditional sense of the term. The “girl” is “Aiko”, a “fembot” invented by 34-year-old inventor Le Trung. Aiko reportedly cost about £30,000 to create; no wonder Trung has reportedly accumulated huge debts and has to move back in with his parents.

Aiko, however, is said to be something else. She can speak fluent English and Japanese and can speak 13,000 different sentences in two languages. She has the ability to recognize faces, which means that once she has met you, she will be able to say hello the next time you meet. She can even help Trung pick what to have for dinner and can remember specific drinks favored by the inventor.

Le Trung built his first robot at the age of four and has since made it his life’s work to create what was termed as the “perfect humanoid”. The success that he has had this far with his work on Aiko has garnered attention for him, but he is still trying to find a technology company to sponsor his research. There is still a wish-list that needs to be accomplished before work on Aiko can be deemed as completed, and one of them is to make her walk. Trung’s New Year’s resolution reportedly includes being able to complete the software that will allow Aiko to walk.

When completed, Trung intends to market the Aiko prototype as a home-help for the elderly or for people who need help while recovering from hospitalization.
