How to Print Professional Looking Business Cards Yourself
I just started up my own business. Right now I am working from my home office and loving every minute of it. Even though my business is still small and developing I wanted professional and memorable looking business cards to pass out and drum up clients for myself. Because my business is of an artistic nature it was very important to me to have a business card that demonstrated my ability to present information in a visually appealing manner. But I didn’t want to pay an exorbitant price for them though; it simply wasn’t in my budget. So I decided I could create and print my own professional and unique business cards.
My first step was choosing the type of paper for my business card project. I wanted high- quality cover stock in a sophisticated shade of blue. Any color of paper will do really as long as the shade is subtle and properly reflects the tone of your business. If you want a more conservative, classic look try a cream colored paper. Many art and office supplies stores carry paper for just these types of projects.
After choosing your papers design a layout for your business cards next. There is software, like Microsoft Publisher, that offers basic business card templates that may serve your purposes perfectly. Within each template you can change font styles, sizing and spacing. The font that you use should be clean cut and easy to read. After design your card with the template and printing them some choose to shape their business cards to help them to stand out, perhaps with a rounded corner. As long as they are still wallet sized it is absolutely fine to add this little bit of flair to your cards.
