What Is Soy Ink?
Traditional inks are petroleum-based, but soy-based ink is making its way to the market these days. What is it and what can we gain from using soy-based ink?
Soy-based ink is made from natural soybeans.

Aside from being low-cost and renewable, soy-based inks offer more benefits. They are available in brighter colors and they provide more color accuracy. They are also more rub-resistant than our regular inks.
In major print productions, soy ink performs better because they are laser proof and very stable. Because the boiling point of soy ink is lower, it does not transfer to machine parts, and thus making it easier for operators to use them. This means that you are not sacrificing the quality of your prints at all when you use soy-based inks.
Soy ink is also better for recycling papers. This is because they are easier to remove than traditional inks. The recycled papers are brighter, and at the same time, the wastes from the recycling process are not considered hazardous. They can be treated easily and more affordably.
Soy inks should get a lot more support from the leaders of the industry. We can’t afford to continue damaging our planet anymore. Soy inks are not only better in terms of performance, it is better in terms of price and natural benefits too.
