3D Printer from Jay Leno’s Garage for Auction
Stratasys, Inc. has announced that it will put up for auction a Dimension SST 3D printer from Jay Leno’s Garage internet site.
The printer has the ability to build plastic models designed on computer-aided design programs. It “prints” the plastic models one layer at a time using a thermoplastic material. The one on Jay Leno’s Garage was reportedly used to “create obsolete parts for classic cars.”
The proceeds from the auction will reportedly benefit a community building organization in Brooklyn, New York, which is being supported by Jay Leno. The auction winner will receive a printer as well as a Next Engine 3D scanner.
Those who are interested may watch out for the auction on eBay, which will run from December 7 until December 14.
