Epson Artisan 50 Printer to Hit Stores In June

For users who need a compact and affordable printer for photo and everyday printing purposes, Epson America today announced its latest addition to the Artisan line, the Epson Artisan 50. Users can expect Ultra-High Definition photos with outstanding richness and clarity. What Epson assures to provide is a product that is easy to use yet powerful, with Epson America Consumer Ink Jets Product Manager Steve Semos adding that the Epson Artisan 50 is “arguably the best value out there” as far as single-function printers go.

So what can users expect to do with an Epson Artisan 50? For starters, you can now produce CDs and DVDs like a pro, as the machine comes with software that will allow users to print directly onto ink jet printable discs. Users can also enjoy what is actually a feature that other Epson models possess — automatic photo correction and red eye removal.

With the Epson Artisan 50, you can go basic and perform everyday, mundane printing tasks, but the machine is reportedly flexible enough to cater to your creative whims. You can go eco-friendly at home with duplex printing capability, although Epson is quick to point out that the feature may not be supported by some Mac systems. Through the advanced MicroPiezo ink jet technology from Epson, users are guaranteed great images without compromising speed. And when they say great images, they mean images that can rival that of lab-produced photos which are smudge-, scratch-, water- and fade-resistant.

Print speeds can reportedly reach up to 38 pages per minute in color – if you print text patterns in draft mode on plain paper, that is. You only need to replace the ink color that needs replacing, as ink is placed in individual cartridges.

The Epson Artisan 50 is set to hit stores next month.
