Scammers Took $90,000 Worth of Ink Supplies from Xerox!
It seems like every which way you turn, there are scammers who lurk in the shadows, and they can come up with the most imaginative ways possible to cheat people – and bigshot companies – of their cash.
According to a news report, Xerox became a victim of three scammers who managed to cheat the company out of $90,000.00 worth of printing supplies. Although that amount may seem like a tiny speck of the Xerox fortune, it is certainly an amount that is more than just worth sitting up for and taking notice.
The scammers’ modus operandi reportedly consisted of ordering the supplies using shell companies based in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. They then used bogus bank accounts to pay for the goods that they ordered.
Bensalem detectives were thankfully able to take the perpetrators in: Nathan Allen Kriegler, 42, of Michael Road in Northampton; Ryan Allan Pollack, 33, of Glen Place in Elkins Park and Evan F. Appel, 33, of Valley Glen Road in Elkins Park. They were arrested early this month.
Between them, the men ran the following companies: B&N Group and Huntingdon Valley School of Graphics which both used the same office address at 2248 State Road, and Digital Express Graphics on 2577 Interplex Drive.
Kriegler, however, said that the group had intentions of paying Xerox; they had apparently planned to pay what the owed within the required 60-day period.
Whatever their intention were, the trio will now have to face six third-degree felonies. If convicted, each man may stand to serve up to seven years worth of jail time. Their bail was reportedly set at $100,000 – ten grand more than what they allegedly scammed Xerox out of.
The supplies in question are said to be boxes of ink sticks for the Xerox Phaser 7500 color printer. The ink has not been recovered.
