Lexmark Interpret S405 Wireless Multifunction Printer Review

We mentioned the Lexmark Interpret S405 when we shared with you some of the printer deals that you can enjoy at Best Buy. For its price, this machine will certainly give you your money’s worth – and then some. We will now share with you PC Magazine’s M. David Stone’s take on the machine.

lexmark With its price tag, the Interpret will make an ideal home office printer. M. David Stone calls it “the most capable home office printer in the batch” in his review. Among the things that make it unique when compared with the three other models in the series (the Impact S305, the Intuition S505 and the Interact S605) are having fax capabilities and an automatic document feeder that can accommodate legal-sized documents. On the basis of these capabilities, Stone declares that it is “the best choice in the series for a home office.”

Once again, we move on to what’s important in printer: print speed and print quality. Truth be told, no matter how may features are packed into a machine, bottom line, it has to have the ability to produce great quality prints at acceptable speeds.

The Lexmark Interpret apparently passed the speed test with flying colors, and print quality was described as “absolutely typical for the breed, with text and graphics quality that matches most other inkjets and photo quality at the low end of the tight range where most inkjets fall.”

While that did not exactly present a picture of absolute excellence, when one is working within a certain budget and is only looking for a printer destined for home use, then the Interpret S405 is certainly worth a second look.
